Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Blue Twenty Four Ltd. Last updated 29 August 2026.
Draft — not yet legally reviewed (29 August 2026)
This set of terms is an internal first draft prepared from how the Blue 24 platform actually works. It has not been reviewed or approved by a solicitor, it is not legal advice, and it must be reviewed and signed off by a qualified UK data protection / commercial lawyer before launch. Sections marked [to confirm] need a decision or a factual check before this page goes live.
1.These terms and who they are with
These terms govern your use of Blue 24, operated by Blue Twenty Four Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 11432982) with its registered office at 20 West Palace Gardens, Weybridge, Surrey KT13 8PU.
By creating an account you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Blue 24. In these terms, a “tradesperson” is someone offering their labour through the platform, and a “business” is someone hiring it.
2.What Blue 24 does — and does not — do
Blue 24 is a platform that introduces construction businesses to tradespeople, and provides the tools around that introduction: search, hire requests, bookings, clock-in and clock-out, timesheets, invoicing, payment and payouts.
The contract for the work itself is between the business and the tradesperson. Blue 24 is not the employer of any tradesperson, is not a party to the work agreement, does not supervise or direct the work, and does not control the site. We do not guarantee that any business will hire you, or that any tradesperson will be available.
[to confirm: whether Blue 24 falls within the Conduct of Employment Agencies and Employment Businesses Regulations 2003. Supplying construction labour to hirers is exactly what those Regulations cover, and if they apply there are mandatory obligations — agency-versus-employment-business status, information to be given before a placement, a prohibition on charging work-seekers fees, and rules on withholding pay. This is the single most important legal question about the model and it must be answered before launch]
[to confirm: the employment status and tax position of tradespeople paid through the platform, including the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS). A UK platform paying construction subcontractors may be a “contractor” for CIS purposes, with duties to verify subcontractors with HMRC and deduct tax at source. Off-payroll working (IR35) may also apply where a tradesperson works through their own company]
3.Eligibility and your account
- You must be 18 or over and have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom.
- Everything you tell us must be accurate, and you must keep it up to date — particularly your insurance and your qualifications.
- One account per person or business. You may not create an account on someone else’s behalf, share your login, or transfer your account.
- You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for what happens under your account. Tell us straight away at support@blue24.app if you think someone else has access.
- We may refuse, suspend or close an account where these terms are broken, where verification cannot be completed, or where we reasonably suspect fraud or a risk to other users.
4.Verification and the verified badge
Before a tradesperson profile can carry the verified badge, our admin team reviews two forms of identity, proof of address, qualification certificates, insurance certificates, permission to contact Trading Standards, consent to a credit check, and at least five references.
The verified badge means those checks were carried out and passed at the time they were done. It is not a guarantee of the quality, safety or conduct of any person, it is not a warranty, and it does not transfer any responsibility for site safety or supervision to Blue 24. Businesses remain responsible for their own pre-engagement checks and for compliance with their duties under health and safety law.
Documents can expire. It is the tradesperson’s responsibility to keep insurance and qualifications current; we may remove the badge if a document lapses.
[to confirm: the right-to-work position. Our public pages say we confirm right to work, but the verification flow currently collects identity, address, qualifications, insurance, Trading Standards permission and credit consent — it does not collect a share code or other right-to-work evidence. Either add the check or correct the claim on the site: as written it is a statement the product does not deliver]
5.If you are a tradesperson
- Only accept work you are competent, qualified and insured to do.
- Hold and maintain the insurance appropriate to your work, including public liability, and combined liability if you employ anyone.
- Clock in and out honestly. Your timesheet, and what you are paid, is built from those records, and the app records your location at the moment you clock in or out — see the Privacy Policy.
- Turn up when you have accepted a booking, or tell the business and update your availability as early as you can.
- Follow the site rules, method statements and health and safety requirements of the business you are working for.
- Keep to the Code of Ethics you signed, and treat the people you work with and for professionally.
6.If you are a business
- Describe jobs accurately — the trade needed, the location, the dates, the duration and the rate.
- Meet your duties as the party controlling the site, including health and safety, welfare, and any CDM duties that apply to the work.
- Review and approve or dispute timesheets promptly. Do not approve hours you do not accept, and do not withhold approval for hours that were worked.
- Pay invoices by the due date. Late or missing payment may result in your account being suspended.
- Do not use the platform to solicit tradespeople off it in order to avoid our commission.
- Do not use Blue 24 profiles or contact details for anything other than hiring through the platform.
7.Bookings, timesheets and cancellations
A hire request becomes a booking once the tradesperson accepts it. Either side can decline a request before that point, for any reason.
Hours are recorded by clocking in and out. When the work is done the timesheet is submitted, the business approves it, and an invoice is raised from the approved hours at the agreed rate.
[to confirm: the cancellation rules — how much notice either side must give before a booking starts, whether any cancellation fee or minimum call-out payment applies, and what happens if a tradesperson arrives and the site is not ready. The platform has no cancellation policy today]
8.Fees and payment
- It is free to create an account and free to list a profile or a job.
- Blue 24 charges a commission of 10% on paid work, deducted from the amount invoiced before the payout reaches the tradesperson. The rate in force at the time a timesheet is invoiced is the rate that applies, and it is shown on every invoice.
- Optional premium subscriptions are £50 per month for a business and £25 per month for a tradesperson, billed monthly until cancelled. Cancelling stops future billing; it does not refund the current period.
- Payments and payouts are processed by Stripe, and are also subject to Stripe’s own terms. Card details never reach Blue 24’s servers.
- Payouts go to the bank account or Stripe Connect account you give us. If those details are wrong, the payment may be delayed or lost, and that is not something we can reverse.
- All fees are stated exclusive of VAT. [to confirm: the VAT treatment of the commission and of the payments passing through the platform, and whether Blue 24 is acting as principal or agent for VAT purposes]
- [to confirm: invoice payment terms (we suggest 14 days), whether interest is charged on late payment under the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998, and what happens to a tradesperson’s payout if a business never pays]
9.Reviews and content
Reviews can only be left after a real booking. Reviews must be honest, based on your own experience, and must not contain anything abusive, discriminatory, defamatory or personal to someone not involved in the job. A tradesperson has the right to reply to any review of them.
We do not remove a review because someone dislikes it, and we do not accept payment to remove one. We may remove reviews that break these rules, and we may hold a review that reports a serious issue while our team looks at it.
You keep ownership of the photographs, descriptions and other content you upload. You give Blue 24 a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host and display that content for the purpose of running and promoting the platform. You must have the right to upload it, and you must not upload other people’s work as your own.
10.Disputes between users
Either party can raise a dispute over hours, payment or conduct. The related job and payment are held while our admin team reviews the evidence, which includes clock records, timesheets and messages, and reaches a decision.
Our decision is a platform decision about what happens on Blue 24. It does not decide your legal rights against the other party, and neither of you gives up any legal remedy by using the process.
11.Suspension, closure and deletion
You can close your account at any time from Settings. Deleting your account removes your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy; invoices, payments, payouts and the timesheets behind them are kept, without your identifying details, because we are legally required to keep them for six years.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that presents a risk to other users, or where we are required to. Where we can, we will tell you why, and any money properly owed to you will still be paid.
12.Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Blue 24 provides the platform as it is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we are not liable for the acts, omissions, workmanship, conduct or solvency of any user. We are not liable for business losses — lost profit, lost contracts, lost opportunity or reputational loss.
[to confirm: the liability cap. A common formulation is the greater of £1,000 or the commission Blue 24 earned from your account in the twelve months before the claim, but the figure and its enforceability need a lawyer’s view — and it must be reasonable under the Unfair Contract Terms Act 1977]
Each of you agrees to indemnify us against claims arising from your own breach of these terms or from the work itself.
13.Changes, law and contact
We may change these terms. If a change is material we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect, and we record which version you agreed to. Continuing to use Blue 24 after that means you accept the new terms.
These terms and any dispute arising out of them are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
[to confirm: whether any user of the platform can be a consumer — a sole-trader tradesperson signing up for their own trade is likely acting in a business capacity, but if consumer status is possible, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 add a 14-day right to cancel and a duty to give pre-contract information]
